A new publication examines the drivers, strategy and outcomes of South Korea’s engagements in sub-Saharan Africa. Paul Melly analyses events in Burkina Faso and implications for other sub-Saharan African states.

In October the Africa Programme hosted President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana,President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, African Union commissioner for peace and securityAmbassador Smaïl Chergui and foreign minister of Gabon, HE Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet. Other events discussed Kenya’s nascent oil and gas sector governance frameworks andprospects for democracy in Sudan.
