Chatham House, London publishes the Audio highlights of the Ethiopia and Ogaden prospect for peace event at the Chatam house. Watch here.

The Ogaden has been host to a violent insurgency by the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) against the Ethiopian government for the last 20 years. The conflict has contributed to the impoverishment of communities and cost thousands of lives. It has also increased the number of displaced peoples in Kenya and undermined security in neighbouring Somalia.

This event will launch Tobias Hagmann’s new book Talking Peace in the Ogaden: The search for an end to conflict in the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia, published by the Rift Valley Institute. The speakers will discuss the evolution of the conflict, the changing balance of forces, and prospects for peace.
