In October this year, Oslo will be the venue for a high-level conference on financing access to energy for the poor in developing countries.

But Freelance journalist Doug McGill, a former New York Times reporter, argues that Ethiopian dictator Meles Zenawi should not be allowed to represent all of Africa at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15).

The conference on energy access and finance is being co-organised by Norway and the International Energy Agency (IEA), and together have invited as said by the PM of Norway five countries from the South – Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Liberia and South Africa – to be partners. The aim of the conference is to further explore possible ways of financing access to energy.

But Meles Zinawi committed documented war crimes in Ogaden and documented Human Rights abuses throughout Ethiopia and such high level international conferences will only encourage him. Giving him this privelage is another reward for him Mr. Prime Minster.

ONA.
